New Photo Album: Sintra and Cabo da Roca >> Show album!
Portuguese countryside this time. West of Lisbon, Sintra is a UNESCO World Heritage Site as well with his Castle of the Moors (Castelo dos Mouros) rising above. We stopped here for a few hours in the afternoon on our way to the ocean; in the end we were actually chased down by a strong storm coming from the Atlantic (check out the pictures from the top of the mountain).
By the time we arrived to the sea it was already dark, so I took only two long exposure pictures [1], [2] at Cabo da Roca, "where the land ends and the sea begins" as the well known Portuguese poet, Luís de Camões defines it.
Cabo da Roca is the westernmost point of the European continent.
